A Mission With Jesus

Imagine what it must have been like to think that Jesus was dead and then to find out he was raised from the dead and was alive. Some people worshiped and believed this, others doubted what they saw. Jesus commanded the disciples to help spread the word of his resurrection and to continue sharing His story. Because the disciples obeyed, Jesus’ story has been passed from generation to generation. Jesus calls each of us to be like the disciples and to minister to others. Even 5th and 6th graders have gifts and talents that they can use to minister to people in ways that adults can’t. Together we can share God’s good news of love and grace.

Bible Text: Matthew 28:16-20

Key Verse: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, so to the end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Faith Trait: Boldness

Talk Points:
*What does it mean to live out Jesus’ call to baptize, teach, and make disciples of all nations?
*Have you ever heard news that changed your life? How did you hear it?
*Have you ever shared important news with someone else? What happened?
*How might our lives be different if the disciples had kept Jesus’ message to themselves?
*The “Great Commission” is for us today, too. What does it mean for you?
*Imagine that you were with Jesus on the mountain. How do you think you would have responded to his request?
*If someone asked you to share your favorite story about Jesus, which one would you choose?
*When has your faith been bold?

Reminders:
*All 5th graders and their parents are invited to the 5th Grade Ten Commandment Milestone Event this Wednesday in the Multipurpose Room beginning at 6pm. This is in place of having class.
*All 6th graders will join the REV kids on April 28th to learn what REV is about. Teachers are invited to be a part of that night. Heather will send out more info soon.
*Last night of Club 56 is May 5th.
*May 12th is the 6th Grade Celebration Service as the 6th graders continue their faith journey to REV.

Make it a great week! Blessings!
